Among Adobe's many products is its "Reader Mobile", made for use in "embedded" devices like Phones and e-readers. Manufacturers use Software Development Kits (SDK) provided by companies like Adobe to add the software to their devices. They are usually free to implement/or not implement the features of the supplied program in whatever manner they wish. (For instance; since v.2.9.1, The Reader Mobile has been able to make use of the Barnes&Noble encryption system.) Of course Kobo would not implement that feature.
