Unfortunately it doesn't work that way though. If you give it to one corporation everyone will want it. I personally think that the original copyright gave Disney ample opportunity to make a profit off the effort they put into the character development

and they should continue to develop new characters if they want to continue making a profit.
I don't understand how a corporation can own a symbol of America and I'm not so sure that most American's would want Mickey Mouse to be their symbol.
