Army Officer's Guide: 52nd Edition by retired Colonel Robert J. Dalessandro of the US Army, with a foreword by Lieutenant General David H. Huntoon Jr., is a comprehensive handbook providing advice cum reference to Exactly What It Says In The Title for Gentle Readers with military career aspirations or who just want to know how it all works, free courtesy of publisher Stackpole, whom I am pleased to again see offering freebies once more after a long hiatus (couponable @ Kobo, by the way).
This is actually pretty nifty and informative (a little dry in places, but that's only to be expected) and non-military-interest creative types who might be planning to write stuff incorporating military characters will likely want to pick it up as well.
