As Editor One points out, the calibre book editor has no
Save As, it has
Save and
Save Copy.

Many (most ?) other editing programs have
Save and
Save As.
But a few, eg Sigil and Notepad++, have
Save,
Save As and
Save Copy
In those two editors the difference between
Save As and
Save Copy, is that after a
Save As the file saved becomes the current file, whereas with a
Save Copy the current file does not change.
After a calibre book editor
Save Copy the current file does not change.
Obviously,
Save saves the current file
