Hmmm .... couldn't say. The Gigabyte company's US service center is in City of Industry, CA. Their newest UMPC seems to use the Intel Atom CPU .... so it sounds like a good company to me.

I don't know enough about the model you saw to tell you much about the specs. I do know, however, that a three hour battery life is not what you want in a portable reader.

This model has a Via Esther CPU, which I have never heard of. Also it says that the battery is 4+ hours, but the reviews are not showing the same results. I don't think I'd even want to use a 4+ hour battery device for an ebook reader.
