The smallest settings are absolutely fine for me. I know you don't like them, but please don't assume (as is your wont) that your opinions represent some kind of "universal truth".

There's a very good reason for having the option of wide margins. Has it never occurred to you to wonder why it is that newspapers, encyclopaedias, etc, are printed in narrow columns? It's because you can read a narrow column of text without having to scan your eyes across it, and that improves reading comprehension (you don't lose your place in the text so easily). Many readers prefer wide margins and narrow text for that reason.
