I used to refer to her in public as my grandmother when I was in my teens and early twenties because I thought Nanna sounded too childish. And then I thought sod it, that's what I call her and if anyone doesn't like it, well stuff 'em.
As a vague motto, that attitude has got me through quite a bit of self doubt over the years.
