I'm a surgically enhanced #3. When I had cataract surgery I had one eye done for close and one done for distance. Unfortunately cataract lenses only came in .5 diopters and not .25. Combined with my astigmatism I still need glasses most of the time. I still don't have good midrange vision, so for computer use I have a pair of mono focus bifocals - one eye for midrange and close and one for distance and close. These work well for the supermarket too - it's difficult to see the stickers on the shelves without them.
