Even after that experience with that case line, I bought another one for my Fire Phone and both port covers close completely. I'm quite pleased.
As to the rainbow blotches, I'm not having that problem with either case.
There are a couple other cases out there that are very similar to the Revolution. It looks like they're all coming from the same Chinese company, but with different branding.

Have you tried to clean the screen yet? That's when the rainbows really show up when you wipe the finger prints off with a cloth.
That's great they refunded your money. Are you ordering through Amazon or their website? How did you contact them?
