I really don't mind it if it's very brief, like, 5 seconds. It helps me breath where the author intended to, at the end of the chapter.
What I adore though is sound effects inside the book, like gunshots, cars on the street, screeching of the brakes, birds chirping, alarms going off, stuff like that, makes it more immersive.
