Also be aware that if the resulting ebook is viewed on a b&w eink screen, the reader will have no visual indication that a word (or words) IS a link without the underline. I find it's usually best to just let links do what links do.
If it's just in the HTML ToC (or other places where links are expected/assumed), that's one thing, but in other places; a link that's the same color of the surrounding text (with no underline, or other decoration) is a link not likely to be used ... b&w/color, eink OR lcd.
