Go as big as your budget allows.
If possible, get rear backlighting on the LCD, preferably with zone dimming, over edge lit.
(One reason why Vizio e-series is popular.)
Don't sweat the LCD refresh rate past 120Hz so long as it is true 120, unless you're really, really into sports and eagle eyed.
3D buys you very little.
Don't pay extra for 4K.
Don't sweat the SmartTV features. If it has a good set, fine. If not, you can get better of a stick, STB, or gaming console. Many BD players, too.
Go as big as you think you want and then two more sizes.
