If my pbooks I'm converting to epub count as what I'm currently reading, (proofing for OCR errors means I have to read every word); I just finished The Hugo Winners Vols I & II, edited by Isaac Asimov. There are some terrific sci-fi tales there, but I think my favorite was the novelette "Exploration Party" by Murray Leinster; a good, old-fashioned adventure yarn with some futuristic aspects nicely integrated into the story.
And, since there were 3 of his stories in the book ... I don't like Harlan Ellison's work. There. I've said it. Better go get the cat-o-nine-tails for this heretic.
