You can see for yourself (though you already asked Amazon) by going to Manage My Content and Devices and clicking on the Your Devices tab. The device SO status is shown there, directly under your device email address.
I recently got two SO PW2 -2014 models and the SOs wouldn't come off the normal way. When I called Amazon for help they did it for free. Double-checked my statement and no charge.
