I tested the iPad Air and iPad Air 2 side by side in Best Buy and the iPad Air (1) does not have the sound vibration issue. Only the iPad Air 2. I suspect it is a combination of boosting sound output (which I LOVE) and the thinner tablet case (which doesn't really matter too much to me).

It REALLY vibrates a lot. But having it in a case does improve it. Even with the sound down at 50% or less you can still feel the sound vibrations. But I think most of my use with sound on will be when I am not holding it, so I don't think it will matter too much.

Really, really like the finger print access and the lower glare on the screen. Overall a very nice machine
