It is a $3.99 Android app which connects over WiFi to calibre appearing as a device, can understand all of calibre's metadata, and acts as your bookshelf on your tablet, so you can sort thorough your books and launch them in a reader app.

The developer is a long-standing MobileRead member and sometimes calibre code contributor. Among other things, he created calibre plugboards and custom columns.

Calibre Companion is, in the humble opinions of many MobileRead members, the best $3.99 an ebook lover can spend.
YAY! Calibre Companion works!!
After spending an entire day trying to get Calibre to work with my Galaxy tablet, and about ready to give up, I'm so happy to find something that works! Thank you, ESchwartz & PeterT
I like transferring my books through Calibre Companion much better than directly connecting my device to my computer. It's really a wonderful application and well-worth the $3.99. Thanks for informing me about it!
