Hi there .... I've been using Calibre for years - and have never had a problem. I have now got rid of my Kindle Keyboard reader, and am using a Bookeen. No problem so far. I use Ubuntu Linux. I can install and run Windows Kindle for PC using the Wine compatibility layer, but there is no way I can get a serial number from the program. The obvious thing was to install the Windows build of Calibre into Wine. It fails to install and I can get no error messages either from a Linux terminal or from the Windows terminal. I've tried the latest 2.x build, and the latest 1.x build with no result.

Any thoughts or suggestions for getting Calibre to install under Wine?
