I did reset the device and restarted my Mac...nothing working.
I thought perhaps I should delete and reinstall Calibre? And if so, can I just move my Calibre library to another folder and then replace it when I install Calibre afresh? I am so frustrated as everything was fine until I deleted the path from the storage device in Calibre!
