I forgot to mention. I already tried the Kobo Utility Plugin, but it doesn't work. I also tried to activate Polish book, but that also doesn't help.

edit: what's also very weird is the following:

Under my collection the book shows up with the old cover. But when you press and hold the book, a menu pops up. When you select view details, it will show the new cover! But just not in the library or in the collection.

edit 2: Powering the reader off and then on again finally did the trick.
Perhaps the old image needed to be purged from the RAM or something?
