Is this Windows or Linux or Mac? On Mac,the newer Sigil Releases uses a newer Qt 5.3.2 which fixed lots of random crashes for me and others. On Linux, they tend to unpackage things and you often get stuck working with an out of date system Qt. On Windows, their does seem to be some issues with Qt 5.3.2 but only for some people.
You could at least try the latest version of Sigil 0.8.2 and see if that helps. If not, I would be happy to look at a failure report / backtrace from you system to see If I can see what is going on.
