I've just finished
A Foreign Country and wouldn't recommend it. It felt a bit like "John le Carré light." It started out great and then fizzled out. I liked the main protagonist and his back story, which was apparently inspired by actual events, and the detailed
tradecraft descriptions, but the main plot of the story was too unbelievable and most of the antagonists acted like cartoon characters.
