Ok, you do a factory reset, connect to the PC and everything is OK. Disconnect, and the books are there. Reconnect and nothing is shown. Correct?

This is correct, kind of. I connect to the Pc everything is ok so I move books onto the H20. Then when I Disconnect everything is still there all the book's is still there on the Ereader.

When I reconnect though I get that error above in Calibre ^ although it does not effect the book's on the E reader, they still are on the book, the only way to re connect to Calibre is to factory restore.

I have tried another cord, and another USB port, I don't have another pc to try it on i'll try that method but I have always restarted the pc numbers of times and it never could detect the E reader after it has files on it. though I never tried to manually copy a book to the device as I am not sure where it would go on it and I set it up by Wifi

As for the Kobo desktop ap the H20 does come up on the last tab EReader although Libary is grey'd out and shows the last book added and all that good stuff.

Edit I just tried my bf's laptop and it gave me the same error, so it's prob the device
