While true, LCD's and such have much higher eye strain as compared to ereaders with eink. So I am not exactly sure what you point is. Non-backlit Ereaders can only be as bad as physical books. I have not used a backlit ereader, so I cannot say if that is worse, but I would assume it is still easier on the eyes than a bright LCD a foot or foot and half away from the face...
