It doesn't really matter how
you use an eReader. (20 pages a day would be less than a standard size novel a month.) Some folks want their whole LIBRARY with them so they can pick and choose on the road what they want to read. And there are books intended for research where the object is not to read it all, but to carry an "encyclopedia" with you. Like, for instance, the Catholic Encyclopedia, which (by itself) is 70 Megs (13 volumes of dense print in hardback form).
