I've already cut way back on my original 150-book 2014 goal, and I may chop my 2015 goal even further. Writing my first book has simply devoured my reading time, and if I have to choose between them, I'll go with writing. With a little luck, I may be able to finish the first draft by Valentine's Day, but then there's editing and polishing, and I need to fix a certain weird bug in the CSS code I'm using...

That may not sound like it'll have a huge impact on my year, but I've also got ideas for more material. A sequel's starting to nag at me, as well as a themed collection of short stories. If I'm very, very lucky, this might actually turn into a career. I've gotten pretty positive reactions from the people who've seen the novel-in-progress, and it's turning out to be a bigger work than I ever expected, but it's been a wonderful experience so far. Sure, I miss the four dozen or so books I normally would've read in that time, but not as much as I would've missed getting to know these characters.
