I have two Kindles and a Nexus 5 phone with the Kindle app. I have the same book on all three and whichever one I use to read syncs to the latest page read...most of the time.

Generally speaking, one Kindle stays home--my newest--my older Kindle goes out with me when I might be reading and my Nexus 5 is for when I get stranded without a Kindle.
