Well, it took a number of days, but I finally got my order from kobo cancelled. (5 days of trying)
I have placed an order through chapters and within a couple of hours I received 2 confirmations (one saying they received my order, the second confirming the details including a lovely tracking link - it's awaiting shipment!)
So, again, thanks to everyone.
I love Kobo, but ... Oh.Em.Gee. will they be getting an earful about their CS and order policies. (There is no reason in this day and age there should not be a way for them to show you the status of your order.)
