good points but not many people will have windows tablet (maybe those students who got it free), you may have sound reasons for buying it? but for simplicity if we skip windows 8. and about your academic books its quite likely they are pdf format so skip th!at also.
filtering these then i am left with what makes me use PC for ebook consumptipn?
1. Cant access a mobile device ( maybe workplace )
2. Can do multiple task while reading on a pc.
3 i can do related word searches on web.
4. like you said can make notes.
overall i see that major obstacle for mobile devices for a clean sweep victory over pc is, in mobile devices you cannot switch between apps easily and it does not have dedicated keyboad right?
