Depends what you want to do with it, of course. Half a GB of storage is enough space for several hundred typical novels, which will be more than enough for most readers.

It is of course necessary to make an informed buying decision. Had the OP done a little research before buying, it wouldn't have come as a surprise that the nook's storage is partitioned.
