Both my N7 (2012) and my N5 have been updated. CC runs well on both devices.
I must say that I am not pleased with the update on my N7. It seems much more sluggish, and it has spontaneously rebooted several times. Sometimes it simply stops responding for a time, and I have no idea what it is doing. I managed to "friend" on Facebook some people I don't know from Adam during one of these hiccups.
My N5 works much better. No hiccups, no slowdowns.
I am not impressed with "material design". Google seems to have gone toward cartoon colors and visual bling. Why anyone would want red action bars is beyond me. Fortunately for my sanity, none of this seems to affect CC negatively. I don't think that CC's performance has changed either direction. The screen change animation stuff in Lollipop does something, but it also doesn't (seem to) break anything. But then, I am an old fart who does not see much benefit in change for change's sake.
