MOUNTING THE FAT LADY

By
Donald R. Broyles

My story can be summed up in two ways. You may choose the one that speaks directly to your state of mind:

1) A humorous coming-of-age story with post-modernist implications, one that touches upon the diegesis of narratival content as it dissects (through Burke's Dramatistic Pentad), the issues of [primarily] Purpose and Agency, and attempts to support the post-modernist conclusion of indeterminacy, and how fiction informs and advances ideological values.

2) She was fat! Whooo, doggie, was she fat!
