access fonts externally

On Sony Readers, it's possible to install fonts in a directory on the Reader and access them from CSS code. This works very well.

Is there a way to do this with Kobo using ePub and if so, what's the CSS code for this? I know you can select a font for the eBook to use. But it's when I want to use multiple fonts that I want to be able to specify external fonts.

The eBook I'm reading, I'm using two fonts and this would have to embed if I cannot access these fonts externally.
