I did the update through iTunes. Shortly after the update--not sure if it was related to the update or not, my the wifi on my iPhone 4s quit working. I'd either get the spinning wheel, showing the iPhone was searching but never finding any wifi networks (there are several by my house) or the wifi would show as grayed out. Followed several suggestions I saw online including resetting wifi, resetting the iPhone, and even putting the phone in the freezer for a period of time. Nothing worked and finally restored the iPhone to factory settings. Still no joy. But I picked it up the other day after not using it for a few days--and wifi connection was working. Not sure if will continue working, but for now it's okay.
