Hello everybody
After thinking about it for a very long time, finally took the plunge and have published my stories on Amazon Kindle's Direct Publishing platform. Found it remarkably easy - the registration process took longer than prepping the books (and as one of them is a screenplay, which has format issues, that's saying something!)
The screenplay is
End of Days
I've often read about how difficult it is to format screenplays for ebooks - one of the things that had stopped me publishing them in the past. But I found it a lot simpler than expected - I'll post re this at another time and place.
I've followed it up - and I only joined KDP on Sunday! - with a small collection of short stories:
Memories Lose Their Meaning
These are six short (two very short) stories I wrote during the first half of 2014 and includes one,
Minute that won the (sadly now defunct) Global Short Story Prize and was thus the first piece of writing ever to make me any money at all!
I must admit that I lean quite heavily towards the melancholic - my work isn't likely to cheer anyone up! I once described my themes as "faded dreams and faded lives" - not necessarily the most appealing of promotional blurbs!
Anyway
Simon
