I was reading an old post on calibre blog, where it stated:

Until calibre 1.0, development mostly focused on the needs of e-book users. Sigil on the other hand, catered to ebook creators. But once the active development of Sigil came to an end, it was important to develop an ebook editor as well and that is what we have been doing for most of the last year. Since personally I never use the editor, I was curious about the current plans: is the editor in a good shape and the dev's efforts will concentrate again on the main program?
Let me stress: I am NOT criticizing, I am merely curious - besides for me calibre is already perfect as it is... but I am always happy to be surprised!
