Yes, have Sigil open the HTML file and do your CSS by hand. You will end up with much neater code and chances are it will work better. Plus you won't have the mess that Pages makes of your code. You can easily clean things up and by doing it by hand, you'll learn more and that will help you in the future.

Pages is to ePub as Frontpage is to websites.
