About your quote, yes, update implies it's aimed at previously jailbroken users . That, and the fact that it's outside of the actual installation instructions.

What I thought was tripping you up was the 3.0-3.2 thing, which is, well, aimed at people running 3.0.x to 3.2.x. Since you aren't, that doesn't apply to you either. Which leaves you with the plain, classical install instructions: drop file, click button, enjoy .

In most cases, and especially in such long-winded threads, always go by the first post only, since the first few pages will be extremely outdated at best, completely wrong & misleading at worst .

Those devices are EOL, which is why you don't see any detailed supported FW range, and only 2.x & 3.x, which means everything. That also means the simplest and default explanation is made for the more common software at the time you'll be reading it, i.e., the latest, 3.4 . Compare with the K4 JB, which falls in the same category, and the K5 JB, which doesn't, hence the much more varied mentions of specific FW versions there .
