I thought I'd give a cheap cover a shot. I got it on eBay from a UK seller for £7 (about 12 American dollars).

You can buy it cheaper from China on eBay here (£6.20 or 10 American dollars)

This is the eBay item I bought and it came from the UK. It arrived today, Tuesday. I ordered it at the weekend.

I cannot find it on eBay located in North America.

The case is thin, and adds very little weight or bulk to the h2o. The material is fake leather and is as you would expect it to be, it is not rubbery and has a textured leather finish. There is flocking in the inside of it, they've been reasonably generous with it so I don't expect it would go bald/shiny too quickly.

There are two metal sections which form the magnets. The case closes securely and will not open up without a deliberate effort. The front of the case will slide to the left (using the give in the spine) by about 1cm or half an inch or so. The cover sits exactly where it should be when the device is closed. I'm not sure if that will change as the spine of the cover ages.

The rear of the case is shaped in the same way as the rear of the h2o. I had expected there to be a bit of foam as that would be easier to make but it's a nice and neat finish.

The port area at the bottom and the button at the top are properly exposed. The fingernail opening for the bottom port is exposed so the case does not in any way impair your ability to get it open.

The case will protect little, if at all, against torsion (twisting). The h2o itself is considerably more rigid than the case so if you are looking for a case to prevent you damaging it in your pocket then this isn't for you.

The case will protect against impact damage to the screen. This is my largest concern - if I'm reading it in bed and put it aside to go to sleep then I don't want to accidentally smash the screen when I wake up. This case should go a long way to preventing that. I do not think you could stand on it safely with all of your weight, but it may stop the screen breaking if you step on it by accident and move your foot.

The case does not seem to be waterproof, and I can't tell if it uses card or plastic inside. The rear of the case which holds the h2o is plastic so perhaps the front is too? I am guessing. I do not think the case would fare well if it was immersed in water regularly. However I will be using it in the bath. I'm just not going to drop in in the bath intentionally, and if I do I'll see if dries out ok.

I'm content to continue with this case, I probably won't go for a more expensive better case unless there is a considerable improvement or unless this case deteriorates fast.

The sleep functions as it should. Folding the front cover back does not put the h2o to sleep, I've had a good shot at making this happen but I can't. They seemed to have got the balance right with the magnet.

In the bag it arrived in.

Open and empty.

Front cover closed.

Rear closed.

Open.
