She is? I'd regard myself as a fan of the "golden age" of British detective fiction, and I can quite honestly say that I've never heard of her!

The four authors who are generally regarded as being the "queens" of the genre are Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, and Dorothy L. Sayers (who, as with you, is my favourite).
