The latest version of calibre is 2.11 (it was 2.10 when you posted), so I assume you are using the distro version of calibre?

The distro version will always be out of date -- calibre is released weekly.

Kovid Goyal does not support outdated distro versions, the recommended way to run calibre is to use the binary builds at http://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux

For that matter, it looks like you may be trying to build it yourself. I would suggest simply using the binary anyway...
The official warning from the download page:
Quote:
WARNING: calibre is a highly complex piece of software with lots of very finicky dependencies. If you install from source, you are on your own. Please do not open bug reports or expect any form of support. You have been warned.
If the binary install has the same error, Kovid will do something about it.

Also, this might be of miscellaneous interest: Fully automatic calibre installer/updater for linux
