(title as yet unknown) by popular YA fantasy author Kathryn Lasky (
ISFDB,
Wikipedia), is the upcoming 4th in her Daughters of the Sea quartet of 19th century Boston-set YA coming-of-age paranormal historical fantasies with strong romantic elements (the temp-blurb calls this an outright PNR, but the synopses and reviews for the previous books seem to indicate a primary emphasis on the coming-of-age-and-discovering-your-true-self component and some adventure stuff as well, and a good amount of historical research/detail), about a family of young mermaid sisters, free courtesy of publisher Scholastic Books.
I can't even guess at the possible title, since apparently there are only 3 sisters and their names have already been used for the previous installments in the quartet, but probably this one ties all their stories together.
Currently free to pre-order (slated for May 26th, 2015) @
Amazon (available to Canadians & in the
UK) &
Google Play (available to Canadians).
As always with poorly-described mystery pre-orders set for the far future, there's a chance that this could turn out to be a glorified chapter excerpt preview sampler (although Scholastic doesn't seem to do much in the way of those), or that it's a glitch that'll get cancelled at some point, but it's also possible that you might indeed receive the full book free, so you might as well give it a try.
And this has been the selected 3rd (non-repeat) free ebook thread of the day.
Because historically-researched fantasies are generally a

for me, and popular ones that are free to boot (maybe) are doubleplusgood.
Enjoy!
