It's A Miracle!
Taking out the quotation marks and putting a > just before the PID did the trick. Now, how on earth do I turn it into a txt file so that I can get it onto my reader? Let's save that for another day.
Thank you to everyone who taught me to do this, both online and by private instruction, but especially to JSWolf in particular! He grabbed me by the email and spent days and days trying to kick the knowledge into my head.
