The danger is that whole blocks of information is deleted and therefore lost. Then some malevolent people may "create" a new history in place of the "deleted" one, something like in 1984 of Orwell. Delete - Fahrenheit 451, Create - 1984.

I hate to go into conspiracy theories, but if one adds the "cloud" things and several other ideas, one cannot resist such temptation ...
And "updated" history books automatically replacing what you have on your reading device (computer, ereader, cell phone, brain implant,etc).
