No, they're not changing on their own (except the "On Device" column. That seems to change anytime it recognizes or ejects my Kindle).
I tend to use the "Auto fit" option after importing multiple books, and then I have to manually adjust a few of my columns that tend to give themselves more room than necessary.

My hope is to avoid having to do that in the future.
