here is a list of links to help u operate ur e reader . ( even the kindle 2!)
so seen as the orignal thread is old
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...15#post2980015
this sound so much like me, i cant hold a book some days epscilly cold days, i go to no movement , like last thusday which also ment i couldnt swollow drinks.
Im in uk and i was born disabled.
i found the kindle very good i have a kindle 2 and kindle 3 and will be getting the kindle voyage as soon as poss.
I bought them from amazon.co.uk
the reason i mention the kindle is because the page buttons are on both side
the voyage has sensors on both so page back and forward on both left and right and u can change the way the page is on screen ( usually i have mine landsape as im lying down and use the top set of buttons to change the page.
the paperwhite is also touch screen .
the voyage and paper white kindles as far as i know ( did get info off amazon)
dont read
so if your friend needs text to speech then they say anything after kindle touch is no use
but the kindle fire 2nd gen on does read and is colour has a light built in has touch navigation. ( i dont use )
also need some sort of stand to hold it.
i do find i can operate the kindle 2 ,3 , paperwhite and will be able to use the voyage.
i found the kindle fire too heavy to bulky and to sensertive, the tts voices was fantastic
but the weight was the biggest issue and the carousel too sensertive is why im now selling it
i have tried ipad the ezreader and lots more , ive email
was told
sony dont do tts
ezreader was slow and then slower after upgrade
the kindle screen ( not kindle fire) doesnt hurt my eyes or make me dizzy.
and the kindle i mentioned are opartional by either left or right handed
and i can have a switch put on kindle if i need to use my head switch. so i recomend the kindle to ur friend and any one who needs an e reader who struggles with moment
ps sorry this is a reply to an old thread but it is a very good question and i dont no how to add this thread to a new thread.
i thought id start with this as it may help some one
