Well, I may or may not mention that certain UK stores which supply ebooks compatible with devices with two Os in their names seem to be a lot more lax about checking the credentials of their account holders than others, if you're willing to dance the dance of geo-restriction circumvention.
And if it turns out you really like this one enough to continue with the 2nd, they'd still be getting your money for that. If not, HC will probably put up some kind of money-saving omnibus bundle of the duology at some point in the future.
Now also dropped to free @ B&N UK, by the way (linkage in OP). It turns out this is the iTunes UK store's featured Free Book of the Week, so it should be good until next Monday.
