After being burnt by pdb and lit formats (thank you calibre for the ability to convert these) I would never buy an ebook I can't "clean" and store for use on any device I choose. It would be like purchasing a paper book I could only read in a single chair... if the chair was thrown out I could no longer reread it.

http://amzn.com/myk unless you have a hardware Kindle, and are limited to running an Amazon program i.e. Kindle for PC/Mac to do the downloading for you.
