I wondered what was going on. I went to buy 2 books last night and was shocked at the NZ prices. One was $22NZD and not coupon eligible, and it doesnt seem to be available anywhere else, so I just wont be buying that one.
The other book was $19.95NZD but I was able to buy it for only $6.20NZD from India, and I didnt even use a coupon for it. Thats a huge difference.
I simply do not understand how they can justify setting such high prices for ebooks in NZ. We have always paid so much more than other countries for our books and our 'remote' location and extra shipping costs have always been the main reason given for paper books.
But I just dont see where the extra cost for ebooks comes from. They are electronic, theres no significant shipping costs involved. Why are we being charged up to, and even more than, double what the same books cost in other countries??
