Do you use your Kindle to purchase books and/or look things up often when you are out of wi-fi range? If so, 3G is worthwhile. If not, it's an unnecessary expense.

Ads/no ads is just a personal preference. I dislike advertising, I don't want to see it. I bought mine with ads, and then asked Amazon to remove them, which they did kindly for no charge (I do buy a lot of things from Amazon, well above and beyond my Kindle purchases.)

When I did have ads on my Voyage, the vast majority were for ebooks. There was also an ad for insurance on the Kindle from a third-party company. When Amazon first brought out the ad-supported Kindle a few years ago, they did have ads for many different products other than ebooks. I would think there might be some interesting ones coming for the holidays.

What does living next to a football ground have to do with anything?
