To kill the rumour in its womb and stave off the angry pitchfork wielding mob: what happened to @pga is not a remote device wipe, but a simple fail-safe of the FW in case of trouble (here, filesystem corruption), a corruption which happened entirely because I missed something new in FW 5.6.1, that broke the installer in a subtle but pernicious way .
